A life full of music. That’s the story of Ricky Skaggs. By age 21, he was already considered a recognized master of one of America’s most demanding art forms, bluegrass. Although his career path took him in other directions, catapulting him to popularity and success in mainstream country music, he has come full circle to where it all began, bluegrass.
Known today as bluegrass music’s official ambassador, Ricky Skaggs has brought the genre to a greater level of popularity in the past few years and continues to lead in bringing vitality to country’s most down to earth art form, the bluegrass sound. 2012 marked the 53rd year since Ricky struck his first chords on a mandolin, and this fourteen-time Grammy Award winner continues to do his part to lead the recent roots revival in music.
